Catbird Season is Open

I declare Catbird season open! Not to hunting, of course, but to the sheer enjoyment of these marvelous Mimids. The photo is not good, but it's proof that the Gray Catbirds have checked in for the summer at our corner of Cary, and right on schedule. I expected one this week, and they delivered the pizza. The trees will be filled with "meows". Much suet and many berries will disappear. And it will be a wonderful time. Regrettably, I must recognize that the clock is ticking against that season for Catbirds tend to visit me for a mere 17 weeks or so each year. Meow away, friends, I plan to have a wonderful Catbird season while it lasts!
