A New Challenge

A new feeder entered the fleet yesterday, and this one promises to be a challenge for the guests. The concept: slow down the Grackles. This feeder only allows access to suet from below. That is, the feeding bird must be able to hang upside down. This should be no problem for Chickadees, Titmice, and all of the woodpeckers. Our friends the grackles and Blue Jays should be stymied, although bluebirds, robins and some others I don't mind will also be locked out of this one. The rest of the entertainment will be when and who first figures it out. I place my bets on the ever-curious Carolina Wren. I'd give these characters maybe two days before one of them finds the goodies and starts showing off. Can't wait to see what happens...
