No Damage, Lots of Hungry Birds

Hurricane Irene has passed, more or less (there's still some wind and light rain as I write this, though) and we were just far enough west to miss the heavy rain and damaging winds. However, a large loblolly pine came down behind us (to our south) But things were crazy at the feeders all day: birds everywhere. One tube was drained twice! I also spotted a rogue Gray Catbird and several American Goldfinches which haven't been there before. I never can be sure if I notice things more in bad weather or if the birds just get more frantic about feeding. The data suggest the latter. In any case, all well here! Let's hope things don't get too dreadful for our good friends up north...
