Crisis in BirdCam Land

There could be trouble ahead. My trusty Wingscapes BirdCam 2.0, which I picked up at its market release (that would be late November 2009) seems to be gasping for breath. Already I've seen a few of the dreaded "pink" shots that vexed me on an early model 1.0, but more worrisome is a sudden rapid consumption of batteries. I've mowed through eight D's in three weeks. The previous pattern was something like two sets of four in eleven weeks. I've asked Wingscapes or advice, but fear the worst: I may have worked it too hard and may need to shut the camera down and replace it, meaning only that my photography may be less interesting for a time -- at least until I resolve the matter. We shall see what comes!
