I haven't said anything about the Carolina Chickadees in quite some time. Last year I was worried that the family group was being exterpated by predators or some such. They did bounce back a little, and are around, but have not quite recaptured my attention. I can't explain it. I have noticed the little monsters: chickadees routinely scold me whenever I get near a feeder to restock it. Other birds have been more forward in mind in 2011 and I will need to adjust priorities this winter. So perhaps a little less focus on the bluebirds, ravenous House Finches, and Red Bellied Woodpeckers! It is time to rediscover the joys of the chickadee!
