You may be asking, how is Peanuthead (the young male Red Bellied Woodpecker) doing on his peanut-augmented diet? Quite well! Our young friend is showing more adult plumage every day and at least no longer has that distinctive RBW juvenile "buzzard" look. He's still not possessed of the most vivid reds on his head, and he's still on the small side, but those peanuts are providing wonderful nutrients as Peanuthead grows up ahead of the cold times. At this rate he'll be fully beplumed (is that a word?) by the end of the month. And then, the only hope of picking him out of the crowd will be which RBW is most at the peanut feeder! All in all, he's looking mighty good!
