Two Perches. A Great View.

One of my favorite vantage points for birdwatching in the yard is from the front of the garage facing the street. I can see the much-used front feeder tree---heavy with finches, low on squirrels. But I can watch an oft-trafficked nectar feeder, and if I am alert, the female hummingbird that "owns" it. She has a favorite perch of her own in a Sweetgum within my viewing range. Today I was successful snapping some photos of her in that happy place. She's at center. Evidently she doesn't stay there too long, as other hummingbirds try to invade the space. When one comes by, she swoops down and manages a fine chase. Too soon, that perch will be empty. It's nice to enjoy seeing its occupant while I can.
