Happy news! our winter American Robins have definitely returned. During the winter we have robins who summer up north, and our summer robins go south. Strange, is it not? Hence we always have robins, just not the same ones. In any case, the winter birds are here and one is already working at the suet feeder. Watching its handiwork I am quite sure this bird has been here before. It knew where to go but as usual doesn't seem to do the job sensibly. I have been meaning to rig up some kind of horizontal suet arrangement and perhaps the time has come. Robins are worth cutting a break, I think. So yay! another good part of winter has arrived!Saturday, October 8, 2011

I've never had a robin at my suet; that I remember. Maybe I could make a suet spot more accessable to them...hmmm. Wondering now what that 100,000th capture will be!
