Might Be Another Nice Try

Intrigued by a post from Dave in Wild Fidalgo (an always excellent blog!), your correspondent took a stab at use of an um, unpleasant smelling product by the Shake-Away people. Dave had great success repelling no less than three species of squirrels. My primary tree rat was unbothered by the "air of coyote" and was caught at least twice at a feeder where the product is used. I have no doubt the product can be effective... But: squirrels can be uncooperative, as I learned when using a nearly poisonous cayenne pepper additive to peanut butter (they could have cared less), a "Super Soaker" (can squirrels laugh with contempt?), and an ultrasonic pistol (mine may be deaf.) I'm not sure this product is going to help me. But for others, it is worth a try if you can past the sheer nastiness of the smell. The test will end in a week or two and that may be the end of this business. Anyone else getting results (or not)?
