Another Winter Bird Arrives

Well, well, well.  Look at what flew in for the winter!  We have now seen our first Yellow Rumped Warbler of the season, and earlier than I had expected.  For us in the southeast this bird is only known in its drab off-season plumage.  Too bad.  It's quite a sight in summer and it has a lovely song as well.  But one makes do.  What I do know is that the YRW is rather fond of my food offerings: suet and peanut butter first and foremost.  And these birds can be equally aggressive.  One was so bad last winter I found myself begging for migration!  We shall know soon enough about the temper of this bird and its friends.  And I'll give it the benefit of the doubt---so, welcome, friend!
