Being active in the local arts movements here, I couldn't resist the chance to add some bird art to the garden a few weeks ago. I spotted these marvelous clay pieces created by a friend who specializes in ceramics. She has an eye for colorful avian specimens, but I am not 100% sure she knew what these birds are! (American Goldfinch and Northern Cardinal, both males in breeding plumage) But does that matter? I gave her the info, she sold the pieces, and everyone did wonderfully in the end. And we reinforced that bird friendly image here at Cary BirdCam with some wonderful artwork! Hm...wonder if the birds will notice?Friday, November 18, 2011
