Lunch hour at the office park presented a new drama of interest. Looks like a Red Tailed Hawk has figured something out about our car park. Of course there is the convenience of these well-lit perching posts and a great, wide open space. But more to the point is the abundance of prey. There are songbirds (Lately I've observed Song Sparrows, House Finches, and Yellow Rumped Warblers), large insects in the frisbee golf course (lots of tall grass in the roughs) and plausibly lizards and rodents. It will be interesting to see if this hawk can make an extended go of this target rich environment. We'll be watching...
