A Strange Visit

Look who dropped by earlier this week! We had one of our very infrequent visits by a Red Winged Blackbird, it seems. The log book tells me they last passed by only three times in the past eighteen months (once in December, twice in January) My belief is that the blackbirds center their activities on a nearby pond, but they don't voyage up here except when the weather is quite horrible. And yet this female dropped by on a nice day. What am I to make of that? Wunderlust? Whatever this was about, she has moved on and wasn't seen in the past several days. Such are the mysterious ways of blackbirds.
