A Lot Less Competition

With the winter competition gone, the pickings are easier at the suet feeders for our all year woodpeckers.  This Red Bellied Woodpecker is now only sharing space with the occasional Northern Flicker and Downy Woodpecker.  Yesterday's BirdCam photography seems to be almost nothing but RBWs.  I'll bet they are a lot happier, not needing to fight for space with pesky Yellow Rumped Warblers.  Of course, this will not last!  At some point the catbirds will arrive, and the bluebirds will be wanting their piece of the proteins.  But that day is not today.  And it's all about the woodpeckers.
