Relocations

So I had a little spare time on a rainy Saturday morning.  What better to do than relocate a bunch of nest boxes!  The impetus: (a) retire a squirrel-damaged box and (b) install a new Flying Squirrel box.  (a) seemed a good location, so I moved a venerable old dud there to see what happens.  (b) needed to be a bit farther away from the house.  The slot (b) took was also held by an underperformer -- see above -- and that "(c) moved to a former Bird Bottle location.  That left "bluebird box" (d) which I moved to an entirely untested spot.  The score: one nest box removed, three relocated, and six left alone--for this year.  I wonder if anything will come up in the second brood wave... can't wait!
