A Rare Feeder Guest

Chipping Sparrows are a very common bird here in the east, and in this part of the southeast US we actually enjoy them all year round.  That is, except, at our feeders.  They much prefer ground level work and are often reluctant to come much beyond protective vegetative cover.  Our Chippies even have the luxury of multiple feeder stations to forage beneath.  Once in a rare, rare while they will come to a feeder such as my hanging platform.   Without the BirdCam, I would likely not even know of those infrequent encounters.  Surely this is only a reconnaissance: the bird is absorbing its full territory and might be tempted by a stray bit of seed.  And then it's off to the hiding places.
