A Good Year for Hummers?

2012 is definitely looking like a capital hummingbird season for us.  Since the summer residents showed up I am seeing birds frequently, in fact, even early every morning as I head off to work.  And, surprisingly, I see a male as often as a female.  That may yet change as the year progresses.  So far I have not been able to count the hummers: that's a labor that surpasses my energy levels!  But there's no yet enough flower activity on site to interest too many birds in any case.  This is wonderful entertainment and I'm glad many weeks of it lie ahead.
