More Young'uns
The breeding season continues with fine results for all. Just this week alone, one that poked its nose into August, I've seen a juvenile towhee (shown), a couple of young Northern Cardinals, a juvenile House Finch (surely one of many!), a juvenile titmouse, and a pair of young Eastern Bluebirds. We must be looking at third or even fourth nest attempts for some species. And we're chock-a-plenty with young birds! Of course not all of them will make it through winter, if past the cats and other predators. But we are assured of good populations of the backyard species. What a great year!
