Bird Baths Ready for Winter

In a way it felt altogether wrong today to rig up my de-icer system for the bird baths.  It was much too warm!  And the forecast out ten days sees no sub-freezing nights.  But late October is typically the time we start experiencing freeze-ups, and I would rather get the thing ready and flip the switch when needed, and ... for heavens sake! knowing that there is a chance of this mass visit of Cedar Waxwings that happened last winter, or something like it, makes the effort well worth it.  So I am prepared here.  No birds need fear a frozen pedestal or ground level bath here this winter!
