Just Like That!

Now wasn't it it just yesterday that I wondered aloud if we would see the Hermit Thrush again?  And what to my wondering eye thus appeared the following morning was this elusive and cagey thrush!  Hermie is back and well practiced for suet gathering.  The bird I watched knew exactly how to score suet from the hanging basket.  This is a trick last year's bird needed some time to master.  So I draw the conclusion the same bird is back for this winter, and earlier than I have seen it previously.  That is the last of the expected winter species... everyone is here before the solstice.  Will be fun!
