Pine Warbler Liking Peanuts
Up until very recently, the peanut piece feeder has been a mainly wren-nuthatch-and-woodpecker show, with the three nuthatch species taking the lion's share of the loot. But a new player has appeared, and it's a jewel. Our friend the Pine Warbler has found these peanuts and evidently likes the selection. What a plus for me, as PW has not exactly been a frequent guest. Perhaps an alternative to straight suet may incentivize more traffic. Not to mention give us a nice flash of yellow color on a drab winter day. There may be much to enjoy here on both sides!
