During the breeding season I had the amusing opportunity to welcome a pair of young male Eastern Bluebirds, nicknamed, of course, Jake and Elwood -- the Blues Brothers. They are still around, in case you've been curious. All I have lacked is the photo evidence. And here we see the two Blues Brothers and an additional male, perhaps the father. One can never tell without banding. We do have a good sized family group this winter and that has made for interesting doings at the suet feeder. And it goes without saying that I hope this bunch makes better use of the bluebird-friendly facilities come spring!
