Snowbirds, No Snow
Being a New England expatriate, I'm perfectly happy not seeing another flake of snow. Ever. And it has been a while since we have experienced a miserable snowfall. (For the record, in central North Carolina that's anything in excess of 1 inch.) I did my time. But I am not a bit tired of snowbirds. And those snowbirds---Slate Colored Juncos---are a perfectly acceptable substitute. Who can tire of their profound business? their delightful hopping, pecking and probing in the yard? Snow is depressing. Snowbirds are the antidepressant of winter. So I say, let it snowbird, let it snowbird, let it snowbird!
