Hummers Closing In

The data are pouring in, and Ruby Throated Hummingbirds are closing in on our area!  According to Hummingbirds, the migrating birds have been sighted in eight southeastern states and are as close to us as Hilton Head.  They're moving slowly this season.  The first reported observation in Plaquemines Parish Louisiana came in over a month ago (2/20) and they've barely advanced in the past week.  Still, I'm expecting them to be here by April 1st if trends hold up.  I can't wait to see our first migrant!
