Might Be Gone

Summer may have passed more than one marker today.  While we pass into September overnight, and while we conclude the first weekend of college football, it may also be that the hummingbirds have passed on to Central America.  I didn't see a single bird today despite many opportunities on the property.  We are definitely close enough in time but it is sure jarring not to see one for the first time in many weeks.  Well, I still changed out the nectar and will keep things running if for no other reason than to lure in stragglers.  Sad day! (if true).  But on to the first real month of fall!
