Long Time No See

It has been some time since we last spotted a Ruby Crowned Kinglet on the property.  This is odd because they're a lock for winter regulars in most places in the Piedmont.  It's just for whatever reasons they haven't found our offerings appealing or this spot has remained undetected by younger successor Kinglets.  These are lively little birds which previously responded well to suet.  And they are surprisingly fearless: I've been able to get within a few inches on one.  But Cary Bird Cam may go without the fun and fearlessness.  I keep watching...
