As I have done for several years, the last nectar has been sitting out deep into the fall. And the little hope and expectation was that each year, just maybe, a Rufous Hummingbird would find the feeder. And stick around. And each year that hope gets dashed. It's been ten weeks past the last Ruby Throated Hummingbird left the area and I am getting more of the mind 2013 didn't deliver, either. I will persist a little longer, perhaps to the end of the month. There's always a tiny chance. Maybe.
