Hummingbirds Set to Arrive

One of the great miracles of nature is about to manifest itself in 2014.  Believe it or not, Ruby Throated Hummingbirds are on the way and should reach North American shores later this week!  I track the migration reports at Hummingbird Net: last year someone reported a bird along the Mississippi River delta on 2/20/13.  It does take them a while to get far inland.  I don't expect the earliest sighting in these parts until at least late March.  Nevertheless, these marvelous creatures are on the move.  It's a fantastic thought that spring continues after such a crummy winter!
