The Hummingbird Hunt Continues

We observed Ruby Throated Hummingbirds for the first time this season on Easter Sunday, and in that following week spotted at least one bird at two different feeders. However, I am skeptical I saw would-be residents: I have failed both to photograph a hummer despite six day’s efforts at those two feeders, and I have had no visual evidence of any kind in more than five days. I am due. In 2008 I gained my first photo on April 22nd and then had solid success with the BirdCam all the way into the last week of September. Hopefully we’ll get that first photo for 2009 soon as well as a dazzling Hummingbird summer. I--and BirdCam-- remain vigilant.
