When I purchased my BirdCam, I concurrently made the investment in the Wingscapes Extendable Mounting Arm, and I have made far more use of this than any other device for holding up the camera. I have used it on both the core pole of my feeding station (shown) and also on shepherd’s crooks. While the arm gets a great deal of use here, there are some design drawbacks that must be kept in mind. One is that the plastic wingnuts fell off quite early in the product’s life, so I keep one handy to loosten the nuts lest I lose them in the mulch below (done too many times!). Another is that it does require a little extra time to loosen the backplate when moving from post to post, so it is tempting for the lazier soul to leave the thing where it is for some days. But the arm does readily shift to a variety of positions, angles, and elevations once attached and keeps the camera steady. And it is quite durable and gives birds a nice perch, too. Overall iIt’s a good piece of equipment and I, for one, can’t quite live without it!

So nice to know that I'm not the only one who has lost wingnuts in the mulch!!! Great idea to keep one in the house as a back up!!
