More fun imagry at the ground level bird bath: I spotted several pictures of some female House Finches beating the heat (and cleaning feathers). I have seen finches take sips at the pedestal bath in the past, but never a full fledged dip. They approach it like a Robin or Thrasher or Catbird would do; splashing water up over the back and then shaking themselves dry. They may be common, even humdrum birds. But it is something special to see these interesting and unexpected moments thanks to the vigilant BirdCam.
