Earlier this summer I expressed concern that my faithful-in-winter Pine Warblers would abandon the feeder stations in the summer. Certainly I hadn't photographed any in 2008 with BirdCam and hadn't observed them around in previous summers. But this and one other picture taken Friday suggest that---just perhaps --these characters come around once in a while. I'm not entirely sure that I photographed an adult or juvenile bird. The lighting wasn't ideal and the plumage looks odd. But it seems clear that the Pine Warblers are still aware that tasty suet is available when the insect pickings get too monotonous. I'm powerfully glad to see them!
