Like Canada Geese? Like a lot of them? Have I got a deal for you! Adjacent to my office building is a large (~10 acres) undeveloped tract that has been left to fallow this summer. The grasses and weeds have been undisturbed. Combine these two effects in a mostly suburban area and you put out a "welcome Goose convention" sign. Back in the spring I counted upwards of a dozen birds including one family. The goslings didn't make it this time but the remaining adults must have invited all of their friends to the party. At last count I spotted over 65 geese and I wouldn't be surprised to see even more the next time they're in view from my 4th floor vantage point. The gleanings are good, there is adequate water nearby (the benefits of storm water control measures), and there is certainly room to spread out. Look up in the sky... they're up quite high... here come the geese!

Here Come the Geese
