Autumnal Blues

So why am I showing a picture of the BirdCam 2.0 box with a tag line "Autumnal Blues"? My search for one of these boxes over the weekend capped a completely crummy weekend as far as birds are concerned. To wit: my feeders are largely devoid of birds. I expect traffic to be down in October and November, but something drove off a lot of species. My BirdCam has snapped a total of 49 pictures in four days--most devoid of birds. And on top of that, I needed to deal with a pesky neighbor cat who persists in annoying what birds are still around, and then learned that my Fall coastal birder pals are now living in Guatemala. And so with some small hopes of a turn of fortune I visited my local Ace Town and Country in hopes of finding a BirdCam 2.0. Except that this product was not available. (They still carry three 1.0s ) So I have the Autumnal blues. I reckon it's time to place an online order for the camera, and then I'll just need to tough out the lack of birds until things really pick up around Thanksgiving.
