This weekend's labors (carried out as time permitted from my choral concert this weekend) included two tasks bringing a little more of the summer to an end. One was to remove the nearly lifeless mass of our Morning Glory vines to the composter. The other, to take down, clean and store the last of the hummingbird nectar feeders. For each, there are now seven months' worth of memories and enjoyment, but winter has come. I kept the feeders up two months longer to take care of any Rufous Hummingbirds that might be in the area. Well, I am very certain there were no Rufous Hummingbirds were in the area, and enough is enough. Only sixteen or so weeks until next hummer season!

Hummer Season Definitely Over
