My new BirdCam 2.0 has been deployed for ten days and I am still having difficulty establishing image quality. The combination of high sensitivity and high resolution (3264 x 2448) appears to be no match for the extant conditions at this time of year. Even on the sunniest days I am getting rather more dark images than I am accustomed to with model 1.0. At this stage of the game I am going to have to drop the photo resolution to 2024 x 1536 to establish a baseline with the older unit and determine if there is some other variable at play. As the product manual points out, one must learn the conditions and take those into account to optimize performance. I just have a little more trial and error learning to do.
