The Ruby Crowned Kinglet I picked up on the BirdCam mid last week is definitely a repeat visitor, based on this photo taken Saturday, as well as a confirm. The BirdCam image provides sufficient detail of the wing- and tailfeathers to lock the identification down. I was pretty certain of my call with the first photo, but it never hurts to check with additional data. I can't yet tell if I have a male, female, or even both (did two different birds drop by?) but I have no doubt I will eventually see the crown of the head. In the meantime, I plan to enjoy the antics of these hyperactive characters if not some stunning photographs once everything comes together.
