Preparing For Winter Weather

If the meteorologists are right, we are looking at the potential for one of the ten worst snowstorms in the Triangle since WWII. But even if it's not quite that bad I will be giving just as much attention to my bird buddies. I have plenty of seed, at least enough to get past the worst possible storm and its aftermath. I'll cast seeds in the two or three places where my groundling visitors coverge--such as this Slate Colored Junco. And I have two heated birdbaths so there will be water for all who need it (as long and if the power grid is up!) I can't do anything about the weather, so I am planning to enjoy what I can and that includes taking in the view from the sunroom on Saturday. It always is during snowfalls. I will be ready, and the birds will have the food they need. We shall see if Mother Nature delivers on the unwanted forecast.
