No Hummingbirds Yet

Some hummer enthusiasts and I had a chat yesterday about our failure to observe any Ruby Throated Hummingbirds this season. Mine are usually a little late, and I think I know one of the more important reasons. And that would be the failure of our Trumpet Creeper to flower. I have a considerable plantation of the vine, one runs most of the way up a tall loblolly pine. When it's in full flower, it's practically a strobe light of red. But the Trumpet Creeper is late, too. I don't think it's long before hummers find my little offering of nectar feeders. But first, I need the help of natural attractants. I hope to see those flowers soon!
