Robin Reconnaissance: Rescue? Relent?

While my good friend Denise of Motivation By Chocolate fame pursues Fancy Foods in New York, I've volunteered to keep an eye on things and attempt a defense of nesting American Robins under her deck. Evidently an unseasonable power wash is afoot. Question is: will the washers harm the nestlings? In my survey today I determined that the nestlings are probably four to five days away from a fledge which is three days too far to avoid doom -- if our "friends" point their weapon of watery destruction the wrong way. And given that they've asked all furniture to be removed from the deck, things look bad for the birds. I'm not going to remove the nest. That means I need to appeal to the washers' sense of humanity, and that in turn means I need to post signs.
