And just like that, the visit from the female Rose Breasted Grosbeak is over. As I predicted, the Grosbeak stayed three days and was gone Wednesday. Proof? I trained my Wingscapes BirdCam 2.0 on the feeder of interest and while obtaining two images Tuesday (the best is shown) nothing came up Wednesday or Thursday. That's just fine. She needed to get south and I'm happy to have provided a safe place to rest and refuel along her way. And I in turn had the chance to see this bird much closer than I've done in the field, which was last on a precarious overlook in the mountains. This is not the end. Fall migrant season continues and we still have some chances to bring in some species or other.

G'Bye Grosbeak
