Little Gray Scold

It was a slow weekend for us in terms of bird activity. Not a surprise for November. I didn't see many species, there wasn't much feeder traffic, and there's not much birdsong either. About the only thing I did see and hear with any noticeable frequency were Tufted Titmice, and they weren't too happy with me. One pair has established a new behavior of perching in an ornamental in my neighbor's yard and scolding me ferociously whenever I'm visible. Clearly they don't make a connection between filled feeders and me. Or, as plausibly, they are the equivalent of a cafeteria diner prevented from reaching the chocolate pie by the interference of the employee replacing an empty place. In either case, with Titmice there is no way to win. Well, it won't cause me to keep those feeders stocked. Maybe the scolding amuses...
