
I'm finally seeing a little more action at the peanut butter feeder. The Carolina Wrens appear to have been the vanguard of this foodie set. BirdCam imagry has revealed others: a Northern Mockingbird who is a little to large to get into the cage, a curious Downy Woodpecker, and this character -- a Brown Headed Nuthatch. In past winter this was one species that was highly attracted to the spreadable stuff. And perhaps the BHNs will stick around for awhile: they tend to go off for weeks at a time across the year. The line should get longer as the Bluebirds, Titmice, and Yellow Rumped Warblers get accustomed to the feeder. And then we shall see...
