My New Favorite App

Let me tell you: I have become a very happy convert to the Apple cause now that I own an iPod Touch 4. What a sweet piece of hardware! And much of my delight in the quality of the product stems from the amazing apps that are available. For me, first and foremost of these is iBird Explorer Pro. As apps go, it's pricey (but it's no more than one would pay for a traditional paper field guide.) It's produced by the same people behind Whatbird and has the same excellent search utility. The descriptive text is understandably tight, but the range maps (not found in NatGeo's Handheld Birds) are easy to read and the sound files are excellent. And I am free to use the tool in the darkest corner of nowhere: no Internet connection is necessary for use. Own an iThing? I definitely recommend this app to you.
