November's Bird of the Month

How about some data? Why not! Here, at the low point of the feeder season it seems appropriate to identify the best candidate for "die hard": abundant even in the dullest of times. And if a census taken of BirdCam photos today is an acceptable methodology, we find:

Carolina Wren, 42 photos
Downy Woodpecker, 36 photos
Red Bellied Woodpecker, 17 photos
All others, 6 photos.

And therefore, our lively little backyard exterminator, the Carolina Wren, Thryothorus ludovicianus wins the coveted November Bird of the Month. And well deserved that honor is. They're everywhere, getting into everything (except the nest boxes I put up for them). Hats off, my friends!
