Ready For Winter

We're deep into autumn and it's high time to get the backyard in shape for winter. In our case, that meant finally taking down the last of the hummer feeders (no Rufous Hummingbirds again this year!), putting up the peanut butter, and most importantly installing the deicers on the bird baths. My water station as both pedestal and ground level baths, and both will be ice free so long as there is power. I decided to position the both in one place unlike last year when the ground level was in a back corner that just didn't seem like good placement based on BirdCam photo evidence. And I can keep an eye on this station quite easily, to ensure they're always topped off. Looks like we'll have some sub-freezing nights next week, so I'll want to be ready. And Winter...we are ready for you now!
