The Magic BirdCam Eye

There is no denying that the Wingscapes BirdCam provides the user with a perspective on birds that's different: up close and personal. It's easy to take for granted, say after shooting over 76,000 photos (which I've done!), the very closeness of the birds in BirdCam images. And once in a while, one shot reminds me how valuable that close-in is. Case in point: I noticed that a female Northern Cardinal seemed to be missing the typical black "mask". It's far too late in the year for this to be a bird in juvenile plumage. But with a tight crop (taking advanatge of those 8 megapixels!) I can clearly see a molt issue at play. For whatever reason those feathers are not properly in place and it looks like replacement is going on. A nice takeaway with the help of a great product!
