OMG

I've had a couple of "OMG" moments this past week. One was seeing a 50% spike in sunflower seed consumption between Wednesday and Thursday. After I picked myself from my faint--hey, after all, we're talking almost two pounds' of seed in one day! -- I figured squirrels got on the Mega Tube and bled it dry. Not the case at all. I ran BirdCam both at the feeders and below. And that's when I got the second OMG. Look at this photo. I counted 13 American Goldfinches. Just there. Not counting the ones on the tube feeders above them, and in the back yard, and elsewhere. And don't forget the piggish House Finches and every other bird that likes sunflower seed. Swarms of Goldfinches have descened on me like an biblical plague. Yes, this is too much of a good thing. Oh My G_d, indeed!
