Seemingly out of nowhere following months of unusually low American Robin activity, we've gained at least two robins that are fireballs of yard and feeder activity. I'm seeing them hitting suet, checking for goodies under feeders, and roaming the yard in search of arthropods or whatever the heck they go after. My old "Clown Prince" is making quite the show at our feeder baskets, leaping, spearing, and dropping down to collect the shavings. Most thrushes just can't perch very well and these two are no exception. Although in time they may get the hang of things, figuratively speaking. It's great to see Robins back and I'm set to enjoy their antics all summer as well!
