Happy Family

The late winter must have been a frustrating time for our resident society of House Finches. The goldfinches were aggressively dominant at the tube feeders, and I eventually stopped seeing the "usual" number of Housies. The goldfinches are rather more unpredictable now and we're seeing expected flock size among the House Finches who have resumed theit traditional role as First Gluttons. There are at least three males and five females by my last informal census, although I suspect there are more birds. It's tough to know who's who with this bunch. And so the world is normal again, with this piggy family group eating, twittering, fighting, and eating some more. Must be a happy family.
